Is Your Website Working?

Losing MoneyIs your company a kit-set?

Did you flick through a catalogue, pick a business that was close to what you want, then turn it into a success overnight? Of course not.

So why do people think they can casually throw together a website in “only a few moments, guaranteed, just follow our templates and in 5 easy steps your website is complete” then expect the site to provide any real value?

If you could only employ one salesperson to be the face of your company, would you employ the cheapest person you can find? If you did, would you send that person out on their first day and expect them to add serious value to your business? find you new customers? increase your sales? … So why take the same approach with your website?

All websites are not created equal. You do get what you pay for.

Just “having a website” may do you more harm than good, losing more customers than it gains. Remember, your customers are always just one click away from your competitors.

If your website is not making you money, it’s not working. You should be making more sales from your site, getting new leads, fielding more emails and phone-calls, month after month, year after year.

Creating a successful business offline is no different than creating a profitable business online. It’s not easy, it won’t happen overnight and a cheap, kit-set approach simply does not work.

With the explosive growth of the Web, if you’re a business without a website, or have a website that doesn’t meet your customers needs; you’re helping your competitors become more successful, while you turn customers away.

Your site is (theoretically) going to be up in front of the world, representing “who you are” for many years. It reflects how professional your company and staff are, communicates how much customers matter to you, and convinces customers to choose you, not your competitor.

Could your website be making you more money?

Doesn’t it make sense to put the same effort into your website as you do into your physical business? I think so. If you’d like a better performing website, give me a call to discuss the potential for your business online, including free improvement tips for your site, on toll-free 0800 Web Store.
